In a move to enhance user expression, WhatsApp has doubled the maximum length of video statuses from 30 seconds to 60 seconds. This update, currently is being rolled out, brings WhatsApp in line with competitors like Instagram and Messenger, which also offer 60-second video status options.
The extended video status feature allows users to capture and share longer video clips directly within the WhatsApp app or upload existing videos from their phones. This eliminates the need to split longer videos into multiple segments, enabling a more cohesive and natural storytelling experience.
The change is expected to be welcomed by users who often found the previous 30-second limit restrictive. Longer video statuses provide an opportunity to convey more complex messages and share richer, more detailed content. This move aligns with the growing preference for video-centric communication across social media platforms.
