In a bold move to drive technological innovation, the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has announced the 2024 ICT Innovation Drive Challenge. This challenge seeks to foster the development of cutting-edge delivery technologies with a focus on three key areas: Smart Locker design, PUDO (Parcel Pick-up and Drop-off) Application development, and a Customer Support App.

The challenge invites Zimbabwean start-ups and teams to submit practical and groundbreaking solutions that will revolutionize efficiency and customer experience in the country's postal and courier services sector. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas and compete for the chance to position their innovations at the forefront of Zimbabwe's digital transformation.

"This challenge is a testament to our commitment to harnessing the power of technology to enhance the delivery experience for our citizens," said POTRAZ Director-General, Dr. Gift Machengete. "We are excited to see the creative solutions that Zimbabwean innovators will bring to the table, and we look forward to supporting them in shaping the future of delivery technologies."

The three focus areas of the challenge include:

Smart Locker: Participants are tasked with designing a smart locker that incorporates advanced security features and remote management capabilities.
PUDO Application: Developers will create an app that optimizes the handling and retrieval of parcels, streamlining the overall delivery process.
Customer Support App: The challenge also calls for the development of a user-focused app that enhances customer interaction and support, ensuring a seamless experience for postal and courier service users.

The 2024 ICT Innovation Drive Challenge is open to Zimbabwean start-ups and teams, who are encouraged to review the detailed Terms of Reference and submit their expressions of interest by the 25th of August 2024.
