ZIM Developers, in partnership with GitHub, is hosting the Cyber Shield Hackathon on August 17-24, 2024. This exciting one-day event is open to all currently enrolled students across Zimbabwe.

The Cyber Shield Hackathon aims to mobilize the country's tech-savvy youth to develop innovative solutions for safeguarding Zimbabwe's digital infrastructure against cybercrime. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their problem-solving skills and creativity while competing for attractive prizes.

"Cyber threats are a global challenge, and Zimbabwe's IT sector is not immune," said the event organizers. "By empowering our students to tackle these issues head-on, we hope to cultivate a new generation of cybersecurity experts who can protect our digital assets and ensure the continued growth of Zimbabwe's tech industry."

High school students are particularly encouraged to take part in the hackathon, as the organizers believe engaging young minds is crucial for building a robust cybersecurity ecosystem for the future.

The event will be hosted at the Harare Institute of Technology, providing participants access to the necessary resources and mentorship to bring their ideas to life. Prizes and food will be provided, making it an exciting and rewarding experience for all attendees.

"This is a unique chance for Zimbabwean students to showcase their talents and make a real impact on the cybersecurity landscape," the organizers added. "We encourage all eligible individuals to register now, as spots are limited."
